Newborn Photo Session

Technically these were taken at 1 month, but we are considering them our newborn photos. Enjoy!

Weeks 7, 8, & 9

Sorry I have been so behind on updates!! Our little girl is growing so very fast, it's hard to believe it's already been 2 months!

During week 7, we spent 3 out of 5 days at the doctor. Turned out Lexi had double ear infections. As soon as we got home that day, she started vomiting after every feeding, so we had to go back the next day. She had to get a shot Wednesday and Thursday to help treat the ear infections, since she couldn't keep the other meds down. She also had to be catheterized to check for a possible UTI, which could've been the cause of vomiting. :( Luckily, by Friday we were back to normal, had overcome the stomach bug, and there was no UTI!

During week 9 we went back to the doctor for her 2 month shots and to recheck her ears. Her ears were healthy and she did so good with the shots. At 2 months she weighed 10 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 21.5 inches long.

Funny, wait... not so funny story.
So we initially spent the extra money to upgrade from the "travel" swing (given to us by Great Aunt Marsha - thanks again!) to the full-sized swing. After weeks of trying out the "big" swing, only to end up with a screaming baby every time, we decided to spend the extra bucks and buy another travel swing. Figures she would LOVE the smaller version! We're so glad she will swing, but now we have the "big" swing being unused and just taking up space.
All the "travel" swing needed was her duck. Thanks Momma E and Matty J for Mr. Duck, who we dearly love!

Enjoying some of the warm weather in our new favorite swing!

Making faces at each other - I don't know who has more fun!

Week 6 - Daddy's Little Valentine

It was our mission this week to wear all of our different Valentine's Day outfits! Lexi and I made our first trip to my classroom, surprising them during their Valentine's party. The next day, we took our first road trip to Knoxville to celebrate Uncle Jeff's 30th birthday! Lexi finally got to meet her cousins, which one day could mean trouble.

Week 5

Not to much to happened this week (including sleep). Grammy stopped by on Saturday for a visit. I had a teaching conference in Franklin on Monday and Tuesday, so Lexi and I headed for the hotel. It is crazy how much stuff we had to bring for just 2 days and nights in the hotel!! Grandma Kathy came to keep Lexi while I went to the conference and Great Aunt Susan came down to play with her during the day. Lexi did so great in the 1 1/2 hour car ride to and from the hotel. We have been dealing with colic, which has not been fun :( It was nice to have the entire hotel and conference center to walk around with a screaming Lexi at night, instead of just the living room at home. However, being home with Daddy was much better than any amount of walking room.

Grammy loving on her baby girl.

Lexi was happy spending time with Grandma Kathy, just not when it involved taking pictures.

Week 4

This week was very full and tiring for everyone involved!
While a big snow/ice storm kept us indoors, we were thankful that Aunts Emma and Tasha were able to make it here safely. We were excited to celebrate Aunt Emma's birthday while she was here saturday. We also enjoyed Daddy's surprise birthday party on sunday.
The rest of the week was tougher, since Lexi got sickly. :( We are having to flush out her sinuses twice a day, which she hates, but Daddy hates more. Lexi also threw up a few times Monday night, but at least she hasn't developed a fever. Hopefully with the weather getting warmer, we are going to have a healthier week 5.

Her umbilical cord finally fell off on Friday, January 29, so she got her first official bath on Saturday.

As soon as we were done with her bath, Lexi pooped on towel #1 and peed on towel #2. This is a result of leaking through towel #2.

Happy Birthday Emma & Matt!!

She had so much fun with her Aunts!

She has many outfits for Valentine's Day, so we decided to start wearing them early!

Big yawn!

So happy that she is at least sitting in the swing now... even if it is for only 10 minutes at a time.

Week 3

There were no major events this week, but we did have a couple of visitors swing by. Mostly, Lexi spent the week being adorable!!

She always has to have those hands free when she sleeps
